How do I submit a request for a quote?
To ensure a prompt response, you have the option to either complete a quote form, schedule a conversation or call our number 718-467-8733 to speak to an advisor.
How long does it take to receive a finalized quote?
Quote time frames are determined by the complexity of the product, carriers involved, and required depth of research. Most quotes range from 24 hours to several business days.
How is my premium calculated?
As an independent insurance brokerage, we neither determine nor control the factors that make up your premium. Rather, premium is calculated by the carrier and dozens of insurance product rating characteristics. Bear in mind most companies are required to file these rates with their respective states. Though we do not have control over cost, our industry knowledge can help you take advantage of the best credit and rating system features.

I might have a claim, what should I do?
We recommend contacting us before filing a claim with your specific insurance company. Calling us first allows us to gather the necessary information needed to file a claim and accelerate the process. Although, in a time sensitive large loss situation you may always contact your insurance company directly.
I haven’t received my renewal policy, what should I do?
Renewal policies are typically issued 20-60 days in advance of the renewal date. Some policies are mailed to while others are emailed. If it is three weeks before your renewal date and you have not received the policy or an invoice via mail or email, get in touch at SCservice@sumcov.com so we can assist.
What if I have to contact due to an emergency?
In the event of an after hour emergency, please call us at 718-467-8733 and select option #6 to be directed to the on-call individual.
How do I cancel a policy?
Get in touch via email scserviceinfo@sumcov.com with the date you would like to cancel coverage and the reason for cancelling. In cases where cancelling an automobile policy where a vehicle has been sold, ensure the plates have been returned to your local DMV before requesting cancellation in addition to DMV plate return confirmation receipt. Requesting a policy cancellation over 30 days in the past that has been replaced by another policy requires a copy of the replacement policy along with your request.
Who do I contact to make a change to my policy?
For non-urgent requests, we ask you to request a change by [signing into client portal.] You will be prompted to click on “request change” where you will then click on the appropriate policy. You may also send an email to scservice@sumcov.com or call (718-467-8733).
Why can I not view billing in the client center?
Client Center billing is currently in its infancy. Only payments made directly to Summit Coverages, Ltd. are viewable through the Client Portal at this time. Any returned or voided transactions or payments made via mail will not show there. Navigate to your insurance company’s billing website to make direct payments to your carrier or email scservice@sumcov.com.
